the magical menstrual tour

The Dream…
Many months back, whilst relaxing in a sunny spot amidst the long tall grass in the field outside our cottage, I had an inspired idea about travelling the world sharing what I know with other people. (Isn’t it amazing what happens when you lie down and do nothing for a while?)…

The small idea slowly matured into this excited and very happy vision:

“To throw on my backpack… be like a menstrual pilgrim on the road!
Hang out with menstrual activists, wise women, ‘red tent’ groups, ‘moon mothers’, and visit their Red Tents/Groups.
Deliver my menstrual cycle awareness workshop, give my eco-activism presentation in exchange for voluntary donations (a roof over my head, a bite to eat, travel money to get me from one place to the next) so that everyone can come and listen without financial pressure.
Trust that it can work, meet happy sunny open welcoming women all over the world…. and make it a pilgrimage of sharing and giving!”

….. And it HAPPENED…. and is still happening! USA to Canada in 2016, Asia in 2016-2017! The reaction has been overwhelmingly amazing and people’s lived have been changed with the new information they now have and are using on a daily basis. I know because they are emailing me all the time!

On my journey I gave workshops talks and presentations about the cycle and eco-friendly products to couples, individuals, groups of younger women, older women, mixed groups… and it goes on! My dreams came true! I met academics, activists, Sustainable Cycles, Susun Weed, Leslie Botha, Suz Mathis McQueen, Kiran Gandhi, Chris Bobel, Donna Wolper… All shining names in the menstrual halls of fame.

I travelled to New York, Boston, Hudson, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Denver, Fort Collins, Boulder, LA, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Portland, Corvallis and Vancouver, working with women from some of USA’s brightest and best red tents and menstrual events, and staying with beautiful people everywhere, before flying to Thailand, China, Indonesia, Nepal and India, carrying on in trains, airports, on tropical islands, in apartments (and the rooftop of a Buddhist monastery) before ending my Asia tour at the office of EcoFemme at a workshop extravaganza and Red Tent Circle… What a trip!

You can read about it by visiting the blog And take part by following me on Facebook where I will announce upcoming tour plans…
